PURNIA: Having been criticized for its lackadaisical and perfunctory style of functioning, Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University (BNMU), Madhepura, authorities have finally taken some decisions to improve the academic ambience and standards across the university.
At a meeting with the representatives of students as well as teachers’ associations on Friday, university authorities took certain decisions to streamline the academic ambience across the university.

University authorities, in tandem with representatives of students as well teachers association, have decided that the students will have to attend at least 75% of classes in the academic calendar before they are sent up and allowed to fill up the examination forms. Though an old university rule, this had generally been pushed to the backburner, university sources said.
Likewise, the names of the students, who bunked classes for three consecutive months after taking their admissions, will automatically be struck off the rolls and will not be allowed to attend their classes.
With a view to making it really effective, the aspiring students will have to give an undertaking in writing that they will not bunk classes.
